Saugerties Stallions Erupt for 16-6 Win Over Glens Falls Dragons with Nine-Run Seventh

The Saugerties Stallions broke open a close contest with a nine-run seventh inning, surging past the Glens Falls Dragons 16-6 on Wednesday night at Cantine Field. After trailing early and battling back to tie, Saugerties delivered a relentless offensive outburst late to secure the victory in PGCBL action.

Glens Falls jumped out to an early lead, scoring twice in the top of the first on a wild pitch and a bases-loaded walk by Shane Hoover. The Dragons extended their advantage with single runs in the third and a three-run fourth, highlighted by a two-run double from David Yorke and an RBI single by Kaden Barmer, making it 6-1 midway through the fourth inning.

Saugerties began chipping away in the bottom of the fourth. Mike Cuello’s sacrifice fly and a two-run sequence capped by a Magnus Krieger RBI single and an error trimmed the deficit to 6-3. Anthony Depetro’s sacrifice fly in the fifth brought the Stallions within two, and the momentum shifted decisively in the sixth.

The Stallions’ offense exploded in the seventh, sending 14 batters to the plate and scoring nine runs on six hits, four walks, and a hit-by-pitch. Michael Hannah delivered his second RBI double of the night to start the rally, and Aiden Schmidt, Ryan Recio, and Krieger each added RBI singles. The game ended after seven innings by run rule, with Saugerties improving their offensive tally to 16 runs on 13 hits, while holding Glens Falls to six runs on eight hits.
